Climate Update Archiv Eine wöchentliche Presseschau zu allen Aspekten der Klimakrise aus der Schweiz und der ganzen Welt zusammen. Die Beiträge sind thematisch sortiert und lassen sich nach Themen und Schlagwörtern filtern. Jede Woche empfehlen wir eine Handvoll besonders interessanter Beiträge.

Starten wir mit ein paar positiven Meldungen: Wie günstige erneuerbare Energie die Entwicklung in afrikanischen Staaten antreibt. Wie Geothermie fast die Hälfte der fossilen Brennstoffe in der EU ersetzen könnte. Wie klimatische und wirtschaftliche Herausforderungen in diesem Jahr gemeinsam angegangen werden können. Wie eine echte Wende möglich ist, wenn Umweltschützer:innen die Transformationssorgen der Bevölkerung ernst nehmen. Und weshalb es fürs Reparieren von Geräten und Kleidern nun Gutscheine gibt. Mehr Tipps für mehr Nachhaltigkeit im Alltag gibt es auf der Plattform «Wir sind Zukunft».
Zur Klimapolitik gibt es hingegen wenig Erfreuliches: In den USA wird die Rechtsgrundlage für die Klimapolitik, wonach CO2 und andere Treibhausgase gesundheitsschädlich sind, offiziell aufgehoben. Die EU plant Lockerungen beim Emissionshandel.
Aus der Schweiz einige Beiträge zur Klimafonds-Initiative, über die wir am 8. März abstimmen.
Mehrere Artikel auch zum Thema Wachstum: Weshalb die Auswirkungen rückläufiger Geburtenraten auf das Klima komplex sind. Warum steigende Wirtschaftsleistung noch immer zu mehr Treibhausgasemissionen führt. Wobei Rumänien beweist, dass die Entkopplung von Wachstum und CO2-Ausstoss dennoch möglich ist.
