Diese Woche zielen einige Beiträge auf das grosse Bild: Bettina Dyttrich denkt ein Jahr nach dem Bergsturz von Blatten über die Kontrollierbarkeit der Natur nach und Anne Geraghty darüber, was an Natur und Naturerfahrungen verloren gegangen ist, seit sie ein Kind war, und Thomas Picketty und sech Mitautor:innen sind überzeugt, dass ein gutes Leben für 99% der Menschen möglich ist (hier und hier). Und der Treibhauspodcast fragt nach den kleinen Utopien im Stadtleben von Basel.
Ausserdem: SRF hat recherchiert, wie das Bundesamt für Umwelt die Schweizer Klimabilanz schönrechnet. Der CDR Status Report bietet einen Überblick über die Möglichkeiten, CO2 technisch aus der Atmosphäre zu entfernen (Spoiler: Diese Technik müsste sich rasant entwickeln, sollten wir dank ihr die Klimaziele einhalten können). Eine Reportage berichtet aus Pakistan, einem Land zwischen Dürren und Überschwemmungen. El Niño steht an und dürfte für Wetterextreme sorgen. Die Arktis hat wohl einen Kipppunkt überschritten, mit drastischen Folgen. Die Gletscher schmelzen, der Bodensee hat so wenig Wasser wie noch nie im Juni und die Schweizer Seen sind viel zu warm.
Und wenn es so heiss ist, helfen Klimaanlagen – aber die können sich die, die sie am meisten bräuchten, oft nicht leisten, und die Klimaanlagen selbst tragen wieder zur Erderhitzung bei.
