Auch wenn der Irankrieg die Diskussionen über Energie und Weltpolitik noch immer dominiert, gibt es diese Woche auch ein paar weniger betrübliche Medienberichte. Der Ausbau der Solarenergie hat sich weltweit beschleunigt, die Bedeutung fossiler Energie in der Stromproduktion dagegen abgenommen. Zum Earth Day 2026 beleuchtet die NY Times zahlreiche positive Entwicklungen im Kampf gegen die Klimakrise. Und wer sich überlegt, mit einer Spende etwas gegen die Klimakrise zu tun, findet bei Vox eine Auswahl an Stiftungen, die etwas bewirken.
Weniger erfreulich die Meldungen zu den Auswirkungen: Mit der laufenden Klimaerhitzung nehmen die gesundheitlichen Bedrohungen laufend zu, zeigt eine neue Übersichtsstudie. Und in Carbon Brief wird erklärt, wie El Niño 2026 zum zweitheissesten Jahr seit den Klimaaufzeichnungen machen dürfte.
Stadtklima: Wie eine Netto-Null-Stadt funktioniert, zeigt das Beispiel der chinesischen Metropole Shenzhen. Und wie die Anpassung an die Klimakrise in Grossstädten gelingen kann, macht ein Bericht des World Resources Institute deutlich.
Politik: In Kolumbien beginnt morgen die Konferenz «Transition Away from Fossil Fuels».
