Cette semaine, de nombreux articles abordent la question de l'avenir énergétique : les jours de l'ère des énergies fossiles sont-ils enfin comptés ?
La première conférence internationale sur la sortie des énergies fossiles s'est tenue à Santa Marta, en Colombie. Près de 60 États, dont la Suisse, y étaient représentés. Même si aucune décision contraignante n'a été prise, l'espoir est là.
La guerre c. Iran soulève également la question de l'avenir des énergies fossiles. Deux mois de guerre ont changé à jamais le système énergétique mondial, écrit Grist (en anglais). Mais il serait illusoire de croire que l'abandon des énergies fossiles est désormais une évidence, met en garde la WOZ (en allemand). CarbonBrief montre comment l'UE réagit à la crise (en anglais), et l'AIE a mis en place un « Energy Crisis Policy Response Tracker ». Pendant ce temps, les grands groupes pétroliers enregistrent des milliards de bénéfices supplémentaires.
Et pour que les géants pétroliers ne soient pas non plus poursuivis en justice, le gouvernement Trump et son ministère de la Justice y veillent en intentant de nombreuses actions en justice.
Mais le réchauffement climatique se poursuit et un effondrement catastrophique du système de circulation AMOC est plus probable qu'on ne le pensait jusqu'à présent – voir à ce sujet plusieurs articles en français, en allemand et en anglais. Et à court terme, El Niño devrait entraîner des records de chaleur.
