Commençons par quelques nouvelles positives : comment les énergies renouvelables bon marché stimulent le développement dans les pays africains. Comment la géothermie pourrait remplacer près de la moitié des combustibles fossiles dans l'UE. Comment les défis climatiques et économiques peuvent être relevés conjointement cette année. Comment un véritable changement est possible lorsque les défenseurs de l'environnement prennent au sérieux les préoccupations de la population en matière de transformation. Et pourquoi il existe désormais des bons pour réparer les appareils et les vêtements. Vous trouverez d'autres conseils pour plus de durabilité au quotidien sur la plateforme « Wir sind Zukunft » (Nous sommes l'avenir).
En revanche, il y a peu de bonnes nouvelles en matière de politique climatique : aux États-Unis, la base juridique de la politique climatique, selon laquelle le CO2 et les autres gaz à effet de serre sont nocifs pour la santé, est officiellement abrogée. L'UE prévoit d'assouplir le système d'échange de droits d'émission.
En Suisse, quelques contributions sur l'initiative pour un fonds climatique, sur laquelle nous voterons le 8 mars.
Plusieurs articles traitent également du thème de la croissance : pourquoi les effets de la baisse des taux de natalité sur le climat sont complexes. Pourquoi la croissance économique continue d'entraîner une augmentation des émissions de gaz à effet de serre. La Roumanie prouve toutefois qu'il est possible de dissocier croissance et émissions de CO2.
Et enfin, deux articles sur les réalités fossiles : en Syrie, le groupe américain Chevron peut prospecter du pétrole et du gaz. Et aux États-Unis, les centres de données veulent couvrir leurs besoins croissants en électricité avec du gaz naturel.
